Visitors
Welcome
- Visitors are welcome to visit the Bebb Herbarium during normal
hours of operation, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please
note our after-hours policy and that staff is often away from the
herbarium. All visitors must check in with herbarium staff and must
agree to follow herbarium rules before entry is permitted into the
research collection housed in room 206. We ask all visitors to sign
the Guest Register, which is located in the hallway next to
the Goodman Foyer.
Tours
- The herbarium conducts tours, although arrangements and
appointments must be made in advance. For tour information and
scheduling, please contact Ms. Amy Buthod at E-mail
amybuthod@ou.edu
or phone 325-1654.
Visiting
Researchers - A special invitation to visit the Bebb Herbarium is
extended to researchers and taxonomic specialists. To optimize your
time in the herbarium, it is recommended that you contact the Curator
or herbarium staff prior to your visit. Researchers who wish to pull
their own loans must first obtain permission and make arrangements
with herbarium staff.
Policy
concerning 'Use of Collections' - It is the responsibility of
visitors to the herbarium who use the collections to acquaint
themselves with herbarium guidelines for use of the collections and
the library. A summary of the 'Use of Collections' policy is posted
in the herbarium.
Important
Rules for Visitors - Two of the most critical rules for visitors
are that food and beverage and unfumigated (living or dead) plant
material are NOT allowed in the herbarium (room 206) at any time.
Herbarium staff and the 'Use of Collections' policy should be consulted if
there are questions concerning visitation and use of the herbarium.
Loans
and Destructive Sampling - All requests for Loans and for
Destructive Sampling of materials must be approved by the herbarium staff.
