Now Available:  Oklahoma’s Botanical Heritage Poster

“Oklahoma’s Botanical Heritage” was the first poster produced and distributed by the Oklahoma Biological Survey. Originally conceived by Survey biologists in 2003, this poster was very popular and all copies from the initial printing were distributed long ago. However, with the help of the Mary K. Oxley Nature Center, the Nature Conservancy and the Oklahoma Native Plant Society, we have been able to print an additional 2,000 copies.

The poster front highlights the botanical richness of Oklahoma by focusing on both common and rare taxa from the state’s five ecoregions. The back of the poster includes ecological information and species descriptions.   We hope the poster will increase Oklahomans' awareness of the beauty and diversity of our native plants.

The poster is available at the Oklahoma Biological Survey (111 East Chesapeake in Norman), the Mary K. Oxley Nature Center (in Mohawk Park approximately one mile from the Tulsa Zoo), offices of The Nature Conservancy (408 NW 7th in Oklahoma City and 2727 E 21st, Suite 102 in Tulsa) and at meetings and events of the Oklahoma Native Plant Society (see

http://oknativeplants.org for details). Additional pick-up sites may be added; please check this page at a later date for more details. This poster is not available by mail.
