Mammalogy Literature of Oklahoma
The Mammalogy Literature of Oklahoma is an annotated bibliography of works pertaining to Oklahoma mammals.
The purpose is to provide easy reference for persons interested in
conducting research and surveys on Oklahoma mammals,
and for others needing access to information on the fauna of the state. Most of the works prior to 1987
were compiled by Robert D. Owen and Gary D. Schnell and published as
Oklahoma Mammalogy: An Annotated Bibliography and Checklist by the University of Oklahoma Press in 1989.
Major North American mammalogy journals as well as regional journals and the popular literature were
examined to discover articles pertaining to Oklahoma that should be included.
Theses and dissertations from
Oklahoma and regional universities, Pittman-Robertson Reports of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, and reports of the International Biological Program were thouroughly searched.
Numerous other sources were also searched.
